A few things I learned this week:

1. Jam sessions with John and Andrew are good for the soul
2. A bowl of fruity pebbles is always a good idea
3. The University of Texas is my school... WHAT?
4. I am really going to miss my dogs next year
5. Life has lots of ups and down
6. John is my best friend... but I already knew that.

Happy hump day everyone!

ATX, Here I Come

It's been a long time coming, but I've finally been accepted to the school of my dreams. All through high school I knew that UT was where I wanted to be, but I didn't think it would happen. I even gave up at one point and tried to fall in love with other schools, but I just couldn't.

Last night was crazy one. The school was buzzing all day with the rumor that that night would be the night UT would let everyone know (turns out the rumor was true). My stomach was in knots as I constantly kept refreshing and refreshing and refreshing the page, hoping to see an acceptance. I came home from school and went straight upstairs to take a nap to get away from all the stress. I woke up and tried to check UT My Status... and it wouldn't work. I tried again. and again. and again. It STILL wouldn't work. I'm sure everyone figured that out after reading twitter, since nearly every UT hopeful was FREAKING out. Myself included. I went to bed early, wanting to get my mind of off it. I woke up at midnight to texts informing me that people were finding out about UT. Long story short, I stayed up until 2:30 am waiting (also screaming, crying, punching walls) to see my results. FINALLY, the page loaded and there it was. My acceptance. More screaming ensued. :)

I woke up at 7 am this morning (very unusual for me) not being able to sleep and too excited to tell John. I told him I wanted to take him to breakfast. When I picked him up, I told him, and he proceeded to scream and pick me up and spin me around. It made me so happy that he was so proud of me. He was ecstatic! I love that boy.

God really is awesome. Life comes with lots of bads and lots of goods, but He knows what He's doing. So, thank you Lord. Oh & HOOK 'EM!

Signing Day

John signed with Yale today. How crazy is that? (completely crazy, if you ask me)

The night before, I stayed up till 12:30 a.m. making cupcakes with a "Y" on them in blue in honor of the ivy league. The next morning I woke up and was nervous. Actually nervous. And I have no idea why. I guess I was just so excited and nervous for John that my stomach was doing flip flops.

Seeing him sit there with his family in his Yale ball cap made me so happy. He has worked so hard for this. Not only with football, but academically as well. I could brag about him all day long.

I'm so proud of you, John! Yale is so lucky to have you. I sure will miss you next year.

"One Pumpkin Spice Latte, Please"

I love a good coffee shop more than the average person. That's why when my friends suggested going to Roots coffee shop in Highland Village, I was more than willing. For some reason, the thought of hanging out in a coffee shop makes me giddy. It's cozy, warm, and somehow makes me much more productive than I am at home (I think it has to do with the fact that my bed is 10 feet away from me and I just can't help but fall asleep...). The coffee wasn't quite as good as the classic Starbucks, but the atmosphere was much better. There were comfy chairs and pillows everywhere, and even mason jars as water cups (Um, hello, drinking out of mason jars? Nothing better than that). I got to check out my favorite blogs, spend sometime with pinterest, and talk with awesome friends. What more could you want?

On Sunday night, I met up with friends for a superbowl party. The party was equipped with Anamia's catering, loooots of sweets, and good company. It's no surprise that I wasn't really interested in the game, but only the commercials and halftime. But, I can't pass up a party with Tex-Mex, friends, and chocolate, even if I have to pretend to enjoy the game ;) We bet on the score of the game and those who won got giftcards, so that was pretty awesome. Sadly, I didn't win, but Johnny did... so he'll share with me.

This week is focused on Lariettes and getting ready for competition and showoffs. Wish me luck!
