weekends like these

Weekends like these are the reason I make it through the week.
It was a stressful week to say the least. I had lariette tryouts and officer tryouts all week long. But everything turned out just fine. :)

After officer tryouts on Saturday, I went to a Chiesta (Chihuahua festival) with Diana, Travis, Luke, Carl, and sweet Julia. Then we went to get some bahama bucks. I can'y believe it's finally warm enough.

I am kind of obsessed with Julia to say the least. While Diana and Travis went on a little date, I offered to take her around and hang out. We had so much fun. I wish I had a little sister like that. I'm pretty jealous of you, Diana.

Sunday morning I brought Diana and Julia donuts, then went back home for a nap. After, I woke up and went over to Johnny's to wash some cars. Then we went to deliman with my grandparents. John was gone Friday and Saturday visiting Texas Tech, so it was nice to finally see him. I miss him!
Later that night we went fishing and I asked him to Lariette banquet. He said yes, naturally.

I love love love weekends & sunny weather & fishing & julia & john & oh boy, what am I going to do when Diana goes to college?

Lately

On Friday, I went to dinner with my grandparents. They are so much fun. And going to get mexican food is a plus too. After dinner, I begged my parents to go on a walk while I rollerblade with them, but to no avail. Sadly, John was on a retreat all weekend so I didn't have my adventure buddy. I ended up baking strawberry cupcakes and watching Duck Dynasty until Diana and Lauren called me and they agreed to go rollerblading with me.

On Saturday, I helped Diana get ready for prom. She was beautiful. Seriously. Watching her get ready made me so excited for my prom next year. I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait. Then, I took some pictures and video of her and Travis and went home after. My parents and I went to Dickey's and then watched the Hunger Games, accompanied with a bowl of ice cream.

Sunday was dedicated to being outside. I ate breakfast outside and ate dinner outside. I helped my dad  in the backyard for a while, until I got a massive allergy attack from all the grass clippings. So then I took a benadryl and I passed out, naturally. I attempted to lay out, but instead I went and got some new summer shorts. I walked into Abercrombie, looked at the length of their shorts, then walked out and went to Gap (what happened to modesty, people?) Later that night, I took the puppies on a walk and watched celebrity apprentice.

This weekend was much needed. I had time away from my friends and boyfriend, which sometimes can be a very good thing. I got to do whatever I wanted, so I was happy.

I'll leave you with this photo. 3 months, London.

& keep praying for Boston. The world is a scary place.

boring

Nothing too exciting is happening right now that is worth a post. But, I want to write anyways. So here it goes.

Today, it was hard getting out of bed. That 6:30 a.m. alarm clock comes way too early, I tell you. I went downstairs to find my mom who had been awake since 4 a.m. (crazy). In the morning now, I have to take these awful pills which are bigger than my thumbnail. They're all chalky and gross and I have to gulp about a gallon of Sunny D just to make it go down.

The rain this morning made me pretty happy, althought the cold didn't. I used to think I was a winter person, but summer is starting to look better every day.

I got to wear some floral jeans today. Everyone should have a fun pair of jeans.

Right now, I'm reading the book "Crank". It's intense! It's about drugs and all that that entails. It's pretty different from the Nicholas Sparks books I usually read, but I like it. Makes you think a little bit.

I've been napping too much lately. I have taken a nap after school every day this week. Long, two hour naps. What is wrong with me? Something about laying in bed, surrounded by blankets, and not having anything to think about is the only thing that gets me through the school day. I know, crazy. & even after I take a two hour nap, I'm still tired and am in bed by 9:45. I swear, I have a sleep problem.

John won't be here this weekend. Boo. He's too busy for me. He always has something to do. I get minimal time with him on Saturday nights, but even those have been pretty scarce lately! Hopefully, we can hang out tomorrow before he leaves for his retreat. I miss that boy.

Antique Treasures

Today my parents & I went on an antique adventure. I was in heaven.
The shopping started out a rough when I got a little car sick on the way there, which was strange. But once it passed, it was so fun. The antique mall was huge, with rows and rows of things. We didn't even know where to begin. There were little trinkets everywhere on top of old, rusted furniture. After we left, I worried I missed something. There was just so much!

These old books made me so happy.

That Chanel bag was beautiful... but $2000. (boo)

I'm too obsessed with old bottles! I wish soda still came like that.

I ended up going home with an old camera (picture on top) and an old pepsi delivery crate to put my magazines in. My two finds fit perfectly into my room.
I can't wait to go antique shopping again soon and see what else I can find.

it's friday!

Finally! The week is over. Just a few more classes stands in
between me and a weekend full of beautiful weather.
This weekend   I have tons of work to do. Officer notebook,
history test to study for, other work.  But, I'm making myself
get outside this weekend and ride my bike or roller blade around.
Tomorrow, my parents and I are going antique
shopping for my moms birthday. I'm so stinkin'
excited. It's safe to say I'll be in heaven.
Complete heaven.

Here is a list of a few things that made me happy during this draining week:
- Coke in old bottles
- Discovering new blogs
- Winning $3 on lottery tickets
- Realizing there is 63 days till summer
- Java Chip (no whip) frap
-The fact that John can eat ice cream again (Lent is over!)
- The new Squirt stuffed animal in my car from Disney World (I love turtles.. and Squirt is too adorable)

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

^ Oh, and this is so my life right now.

Hello April

Goodbye March!
March was busy busy busy. It was full of college tours, birthdays, and a trip to Disney World.

With the arrival of April comes the realization that summer really is just around the corner. Two months around the corner, to be exact. I honestly can't believe it. Junior year is almost over and then I'll be a senior. This summer, I'll be filling out college applications. How crazy is that? I hope to have applied to all of my schools by September, that way I know early where I'm going. It's definitely going to be something that I need to pray about and think on. I can't help but worry that maybe I won't get into the school I want or I won't have the grades for the scholarships. My grades aren't too hot right now, so I'm starting to panic.

All I want to do is lay outside, ride some bikes, and watch Duck Dynasty. So lets hope that some focus comes soon.
