Bippity Boppity Boo

.

Disney World 2013 was a success! It was exhausting, but so worth it.

We arrived on Friday, my birthday, and went straight to Animal Kingdom! I liked the tribal feel of the whole park, so I enjoyed it, until it started pouring rain. We left pretty quickly after that and headed to dinner where I was surprised with cake, a candle, and everyone singing me happy birthday. :)

Saturday was Disney dance class and Magic Kingdom. After an early dance class, we headed to the park to discover that it was crazy crowded. That was definitely a downer and made the whole day pretty hard, but we had our good moments. I got to meet Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty & then I watched the closing fireworks from atop the Dumbo ride. It was the perfect ending to a crazy day.

Sunday was Universal studios. I got to go to Harry Potter World. 'Nough said.

On the last day, we went to Epcot. Epcot has countries within the park, like France, Mexico, and England. You could say I was in heaven. I was so happy to be in England! (even if it wasn't real)

I'm glad to be home and catch up on my sleep. I'm sick now so it's nice to be in my own bed.
My night consists of some Jersey Mikes, Duck Dynasty, and bonding time with sissy. Oh, & some ice cream. :)

Happy Birthday John

It's Johnny's birthday today! Oh boy, do I love him. I love love love when it's people's birthdays, especially when it's John's. :)

Since John is turning seventeen, here are seventeen things you may have not known about him.

1. He is really smart. Like, top 5% of our class smart.
2. He is a gentle giant. He wouldn't hurt a fly.
3. He runs on about 5 hours of sleep every night.
4. He is a pretty good dancer...
5. He loves his italian food.
6. He is sort of afraid of dogs. It's pretty funny.
7. He likes old music.
8. He can be quite the skater boy sometimes.
9. He looooves Chipotle.
10. I think he has a man crush on batman.
11. He is obsessed with superhero movies.
12. He spends the majority of his time playing video games.
13. He broke his collar bone in 8th grade, and now his collar bone has a funny hole in it.
14. He is tan all year round. (I'm jealous)
15. He eats. Alot.
16. He is very shy about his feet.
17. He loves me. Somehow.

College Tours

This weekend my mom, Madeline, her mom and I all went to visit OU and OSU. It's safe to say I fell in love. The old buildings were beautiful and I just wanted to go in them and study. That sounds crazy, but it's true. I particularly loved OSU. All of the buildings matched and they were so close together. The dorms were awesome & I could totally see myself living there. John is thinking about going there which is obviously a perk.

College really isn't that far away anymore. My goal is to have all of my applications done before my senior year even starts... & that is just around the corner...

music to my ears...

I've always loved music. As a dancer, it's the imperative counterpart to our movement. Growing up in dance, I always had an appreciation for music that my friends at school didn't. I listened to Imogen Heap when I was 8 years old, which wasn't exactly normal. Don't get me wrong, I had my fair share of Hilary Duff and Jonas Brother type obsessions, but I've always had an ear for different music.

I hate hate hate radio music. The constant replay of Katy Perry just doesn't sit well with me. I love music that no one else has discovered... music by artists who don't care about the fame or even the money; just knowing people are listening to their music is enough for them. When people tell me I have good taste in music, it is one of my favorite compliments.

I thought I'd share just a few of my favorite artists. Some call it "hipster" music, but I just call it good music. These are the artists that deserve to be on the radio.

1. Bon Iver - Justin Vernon is easily my all time favorite. He's genius.
2. Explosions in the Sky - Their music is strictly instrumental, which is nice change. For some reason, their music always helps me focus on homework.
3. Of Monsters and Men - They have an old folk sound to them, similar to Mumford
    & Sons,  which I love.
    4. Passion Pit - What can I say about them? Perfect. I would die to see them in concert.
    5. Foster the People - I've seen them in concert & they were great live.
    6. The Black Keys - I loooove them. Love love love. Seeing them in concert is on my
"what to do before I die" list.
    7. MGMT - Their music reminds me of New York City, so obviously I love it.
    8. Wolf Gang - They are a new obsession for me. They opened for Coldplay on their last
    tour and they are amazing.

Life Lately

I've been enjoying my time off from Lariettes! We've had just a few practices here and there getting ready for Disney World. Have I said I was excited?

This weekend was pretty fantastic. Besides that fact that I didn't get to see Johnny till sunday, I loved it. I went to bed pretty early Friday night after watching a marathon of Duck Dynasty (obsessed), and then I got to sleep in saturday morning. I woke up at 10, got some cereal, and went right back to bed! Saturday night I went to church, which was an awesome sermon on pain management, which is extremely relevant to me right now. Then I went to the lacrosse game to perfom my lax lover duties. After that, I helped Willy and some friends film a video to ask Nicolette to prom! It was pretty darn cute.

Sunday was perfect. Perfect, perfect, perfect. I woke up at 7 to go to mass with John. We went to breakfast after (Deliman is where it's at), and then I took a nap. We met up later for a picnic at the park. We explored it for a little while after that. Then we went to my house and laid around and played basketball. It was perfect. Did I mention it was perfect?

finally got Final Cut Pro on my laptop. Yay, no more iMovie for me! I've been playing with it non stop, all day. Now all I need is an excuse to go film something. But thankfully spring break is coming, so I have plenty of time to do just that.

I've also been getting into my faith more lately, which is something I have missed. It's nice to open my bible and pray and talk to John about it. We both plan to pray together more and strengthen our relationship with Him. I'm excited to see where it takes me.

Prom?

This is just a little project I made for Willy. He's asking a certain someone to prom! It's not the best video editing, but it does the job!
